Spellings for 03.10.18

Dear Parents and Carers,

These are the spellings that the children will be quizzed on next week. We will have some time to practice them at the beginning of next week, but we would encourage you to discuss the words with your children. Do they know what the words mean? Can they use them in a sentence? Do they know what type of word they are (noun, verb, adjective)? Finally, discuss with them the meaning of the suffix they all share: “-ious”. It means having or being like the word which it is attached to. For example, ambitious means that the subject has a lot of ambition.

Best wishes,
Mr McClellan
